The most common North American definition of wellness is that it is absence of
illiness. Not a very useful definition at all .

The best definition of total Wellness that we have found includes not only the body
, but also the mind, family,society and finances. To experience complete wellness,
we need to achieve balance in all of these Five Pilliars of health .

But how do we actually achieve balance ? We are working harder to provide for the
family with which we spend too little time. We sacrifice our bodies so that we can
do more , and then suffer the consequences in later years. We continue to work for
people we don't like or do work we don't find challenging , because we need the
money . The thought of contributing to society is something that we plan on doing
some day .We need to change something , maybe everything.

Boomers have little time to invest in themselves as they are working harder than
ever before. They are all turning 60 very quickly . They want one thing. They want
to stay young. They want to enjoy the time they have left . They want to do this
without drugs or surgery .

Their reality is somewhat different . One in two people will be diagnoses with the
cancer . More than halft the population is overweight . We are unsure of the safety
of the water we drink or the natrutional value of the food we eat .
The medical system we turn to is inder even more stress. People are looking for
solutions .

There is good news . There are Wellness consultants working to help people achieve
and maintain Wellness in their lives. We educate people about lifestyle changes they
can make to take control of their health . However , people need solutions to
challenges that they are already facing. People that are already thinking in a
proactive way are looking for methods to reduce the stress that their body is
already under .
